New Weave Collection from Neisha Crosland
Neisha Crosland’s new Weave collection exudes high quality and understated grandeur. Bringing together traditional weaving techniques, playful motifs and an elegant colour palette, the three new fabrics combine courtly luxury and refined modernity.
Cocteau takes its ornate design from the swirling motif of an antique fire fender. Produced in woven taffeta silk jacquard, the rich colours are inspired by the traditional embroidered costumes of Spanish matadors. Available in Emerald, Pistachio, Gold and Pimento, the luxurious palette and ornate embossed pattern evokes an aristocratic feel, giving upholstery an antiquated distinction or curtains the crisp body of a couture ball gown.
Parterre and Pollen are reincarnations of classic Neisha Crosland designs. Inspired by the repeat pattern of Indian brickwork, Parterre uses a French weaving technique to achieve a tapestry-like fabric, perfect for hard wearing upholstery. Each razor-edged paving stone motif is separated by a grouting-like gully, giving the pattern depth and clarity. The subtle, natural tones of Dove, Jade, Saffron and Sage enhance the design’s earthy origins.
Pollen is a soft, cloud-like design mimicking the pollen-covered stamen inside flowers. Available in Coral, Ochre, Moss and Emerald, Crosland uses cut velvet to achieve the fluffy, pollen-like dots scattered across the fabric in soft, organic diffusion. “The pattern works best when it’s quite blobby, to give it that fluffy, pollen-like look, so cut velvet seemed like the perfect technique”, she says.
This balanced collection allows for plenty of mix and match, with all three fabrics working well together or as independent statement pieces.
